This AGGREGATE WALKING Floor trailer represents hundreds of thousands of pounds of research and development for discharge of aggregate products such as sand and gravels up to demolition level. Why such a huge development cost - because it has proven remarkably difficult to make a reliable product discharge each and every time. Plenty of mistakes have been made trying to get sticky abrasive aggregates to move using a walking floor. The devil is totally in the detail on this product. Plenty of others try to make one - most now are being stood up as flower pots!!
This trailer is the default trailer for HANSON who now have over 100 in service in the UK. It is designed to suit laying hot product into road paving machines. It is chassis-less as part of it's core design and therefore up to a tonne lighter than its competition. Titan use technology the others can only dream of - for example the steel kingpin is WELDED to the aluminium. Scared of chassis - less - don't be. Titan are the number one manufacturer of landfill trailers in the UK and have been chassis-less from the outset. You should be more scared of the chassis based constructors who have not put the technological investment in to build as an integrated design and stick to old fashioned coach building and the extra weight that handicaps it.
This trailer has TITAN own floor plank for both the side planks in the floor. These are HARDOX and are pressed so that they form both the floor and the side wall. This unsticks the load from the side. It prevents material moving under the planks. These sideplanks then seamlessly integrate into the side of the trailer where they meet 12 mm thick slab of UHD Matrox - this is basically the same material they use in ice skating rinks!! The Matrox is also designed to sit into the side wall in a unique TITAN own wall extrusion. There is nothing like it on the market. ONLY Titan can do this - as only TITAN use the horizontal side wall plank system. ONLY Titan can weld both the inside of the trailer AND weld the outside of the trailer. If you want the best this is it. The side wall material and overall design of the trailer uses amazing technology such as explosion welded joints - steel welded to aluminium. The side wall is the horizontal plank system used in the Armageddon landfill trailers. If they can withstand 15 years on UK landfill with Sherwoods they will do 15 years on aggregate. This is not just a box slapped onto a third party chassis. This is the real deal.
