The ECU is the ‘brains’ behind an ABS or EBS system, and can be analogue or digital. The latest EBS ECU’s can control far more than the anti-lock function, including anti-rollover, satellite tracking, diagnostics, brake settings, overload indication and the reading of test point pressures. Some versions allow control of up to 5 additional auxiliary functions, allowing future retrofit of additional hardware, while utilising the original ECU
